Firewise: The Scientists Speak, is an ongoing film project weaving the personal accounts and astonishing findings of leading scientists and firefighters. They understand ways to stay safe while protecting lands that have always been shaped by fire.  Firewise will discuss our universal fear of fire, while distinguishing between wildfires and urban conflagrations. Personal accounts will be combined with the best available science on one of the ancient, most misunderstood forces of nature. Critical in a changing climate, the voices in Firewise will discuss how much can be done to increase fire safety on the home front while saving the backcountry from large-scale logging, thinning focused on the largest trees, and clear-cutting projects – with real data proving that those actions are more destructive than beneficial.
